THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to elevate our culinary and beverage offerings to new heights as our Director of Food & Beverage. Reporting directly to our General Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences across our various outlets, including NoMI Kitchen, NoMI Lounge, NoMI Garden, in-room dining, and banquets. Additionally, you will spearhead the rebranding of NoMI to embody the essence of Chicago, transforming it into a culinary destination that reflects the vibrant spirit and cultural richness of the city. In this role, you will benefit from continuous mentorship from the General Manager which establishes a structured platform for professional growth and development within our dynamic organization.

RESPONSIBILITES (Include but not limited to);

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • As a member of the Leadership Committee, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to the cultivation of a welcoming and inclusive environment through dedicated mentoring initiatives for all colleagues.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive revenue growth, enhance guest satisfaction, and maintain operational excellence within the Food & Beverage department.
    • Drive revenue generation through strategic pricing strategies, cost controls, and effective inventory management while maximizing profitability and managing departmental budgets.
    • Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the Food & Beverage Division.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of all Food & Beverage outlets, ensuring seamless service delivery, adherence to quality standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of culinary, service, and administrative professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. High focus on engagement with the team.
    • Champion a guest-centric approach to service delivery, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction, resolve issues, and anticipate evolving preferences and trends. Driven by creativity to create experiences.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to uphold quality standards, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with Executive Chefs and Beverage Managers to curate innovative menus that showcase local flavors, seasonal ingredients, and culinary trends while aligning with brand standards. Driving NoMI’s performance with a standalone brand concept.
    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales & Marketing, Finance, and Rooms Division, to drive integrated initiatives and deliver exceptional guest experiences across all touchpoints.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with local vendors, suppliers, and community partners to support sustainable sourcing initiatives and promote the hotel as a culinary destination.
    • Collaboratively engage with our Corporate Food & Beverage team, contributing to insightful discussions and seeking guidance to drive strategic decisions.

SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $97,000 - $150,400. Actual pay will commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior Food & Beverage role.
  • Proven track record of success in a senior leadership role within the luxury Food & Beverage sector, preferably in a renowned hotel or fine dining establishment.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis, with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue and profitability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead by example in a team-oriented culture dedicated to excellence.
  • Extensive knowledge of luxury culinary trends, beverage programs, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Food & Beverage systems, and payroll management.
  • Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, some nights, weekends, and Holidays are required.
