Job Summary:
The Director of Business Development leads the Business Development department. This position requires both a leader and doer. The successful candidate will lead, guide, and mentor capture managers, proposals managers, and BD staff to build a cohesive and highly productive team. Must be willing to lead by example, lead captures, and fill gaps when needed to ensure our growth plan meets or exceeds our goals. The DBD uses the company’s overall culture, values, vision, and strategy and develops actionable plans to grow the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Promotes our company culture of Accountability, embraces our core values and team environment, and operates with honesty and integrity
- Builds, guides and develops a high performing BD team
- Provides guidance, direction, training, and mentorship to teammates
- Performs capture management and assigns opportunities to capture managers
- Develops and enhances relationships with strategic partners
- Maintains a qualified opportunity pipeline that is qualified and sufficient to meet/exceed revenue goals
- Performs Price-to-Win analysis on new opportunities and provides pricing input
- Prepares and delivers weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
- Travel as required
