Job Description Overview:
The Director of Business Development & Licensing will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and licensing agreements to drive company growth. Reporting to the Director of BD, this role will work closely with various internal departments and external stakeholders to get partners interested in our pipeline programs and project manage licensing deals. This role is fully remote, based anywhere in the US/ Canada. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide sponsorship to work in the US/Canada.
Minimum requirements
5+ years of experience in BioPharma/Biotech sales. Preferably in Enterprise sales motions
Consultative, customer-first sales approach
You have a measurable track record in new Business Development and over achieving sales targets.
History of personal and professional excellence
Lifelong learner mindset and commitment to professional growth and development
You thrive while working in a fast-paced environment where change is common
Experience selling commercial stage therapeutics or clinical stage licensing is a huge plus
Strong experience with sales software such as CRM, Sales engagement tools is also a plus
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and licensing deals that align with the company's goals and objectives
Support strategy on the creation of one pagers and pitch deck to ensure proper messaging based on key learnings for engagement
Primarily responsible for booking meetings and leading portfolio overview calls for licensing partnerships with the end goal of moving partners to a CDA and diligence
Be the POC for to ensure a smooth diligence process by making sure timelines are met, questions are thoroughly answered, and all necessary dataroom materials are available
Responsible for relaying intel from partnering conversations back to the team so the deal and portfolio strategy or deal materials could adjust accordingly
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform Business Development strategies and identify new growth areas
Represent Vial at conferences and in-person networking events
