This is a hybrid position that can be based out of our Columbus, OH or New York City headquarters
Your Role:
The Director of Merchandise Planning is responsible for demand planning of all wholesale brand relationships for VS&Co. The Director leads the department’s financials by developing and gaining alignment with cross-functional teams on budgets, goals, and plans, ensuring the financial and profitability strategies are consistent with growth targets. This role serves as the key liaison between Merch, Finance, Marketing and Operations in the development of plans (sales, margin, receipts, inventory, and profitability) to achieve financial goals. This role partners with wholesale brands for timely long-range plans, projections, and buys. Leads the strategic development and implementation of innovative processes and best practices crucial for sustaining and accelerating the business’s growth trajectory. This role hires, coaches, and develops a quality team including succession planning and regular performance reviews to address personal growth and development needed to foster a productive, focused, and collaborative team.

Your Impact:
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead and oversee the Merchandise Planning team in setting and revising sales, margin, and inventory targets across pre-season, in-season, and post-season assortment strategies.
- Risk Management and Action Plans
- Identify financial plan opportunities or risks, devising action plans to optimize or mitigate outcomes. Present clear analyses in regular meetings to guide decision-making.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Build robust relationships with merchandising, marketing, digital, and pricing teams to synchronize planning efforts.
- Partnership Development
- Foster collaborative ties with wholesale brand teams, reviewing business outcomes, sharing future buy strategies, and meeting critical deadlines.
- Execution Oversight
- Direct the team in executing the Merchandise Planning process, managing line plans, monthly re-trending, and promotional architecture.
- Business Health Assessment
- Evaluate health through pareto analysis, guiding the merchant team on future assortment strategies.
- Risk Assessment Models
- Maintain models to determine buy levels, ensuring profitability alignment with budgets.
Minimum Salary : $135,000.00
Maximum Salary : $194,250.00
VS&Co provides an estimated range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual compensation will be determined by a number of relevant factors, including but not limited to your specific skills, experience, & geographic location.
QualificationsYour Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in financial planning or analysis.
- 5+ years of experience in MERCHANDISE PLANNING, demand planning, or replenishment.
- Extensive multi-store planning and leadership experience.
- Proficiency in forecasting methodologies, statistical modeling, Excel, PowerPoint, and Enterprise Planning.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in wholesale planning or merchandising is advantageous.
