Redken is the #1 brand in the professional hair category in both Pro and Consumer channels, leading in Haircolor, Styling and Haircare. Redken has a complex distribution ecosystem across SalonCentric, Amazon, Ulta, Chain Accts and DTC Ecom . The brand has 3 separate categories- Haircolor, Haircare, Styling- all of which hold the number 1 position in the pro market. Redken is the largest spender in the industry in Media and ranked #1 in the market in terms of advocacy metrics.
What You Will Do:
Accountable for growth and development of the Shades EQ and Lightener categories on Redken. Responsible for the strategy, implementation, and evaluation of the business in SalonCentric. Leader of the Consumer advertising plans for the Shades EQ business. As the category lead the responsibility includes the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies, including all promotional activities and product launches. Interact effectively with departments such as: sales, operations, finance, education, public relations, marketing services, creative, sales administration, global marketing team and senior management team. Monitor and analyze business results to recommend opportunities for improving plans and their execution. Role will have a direct report.
BUSINESS LEAD FOR SHADES EQ & LIGHTENERS
Execution and development of clear brand building plans in line with the objectives of the division including: 3 year marketing plan, new product launches, promotions and communication strategy. Work closely with all US cross functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Media, Communications, Education and CRM)
Own category support calendar and plan including key promotions, in store merchandising, 360 support plans, activations and digital elements.
Own vision & strategy for launches and hero pillars. Work with POD & cross functional teams to execute key initiatives.
Ensure that launches are delivered on Time and On Budget. Strive for executional excellence on all marketing initiatives.
Develop forecast for Shades EQ & Lightener, track and re-trend as needed. Ensure Demand Planning is current on latest estimates
Prepare and deliver presentation to sales, distributor teams, and internal teams.
Interface with key salons, stylists and distributors for understanding of market trends and competitor activities.
Conduct marketing research, follow up on campaigns and launches, and provide Senior Management team with regular quantitative and qualitative reports. Analyze market segments to determine need gaps in portfolio
Set Pricing Strategy. Develop Sku Rationalization strategy. Route through necessary approval channels to meet account needs.
Understand market share gaps for both professional and consumer markets, identify white space and strategies to gain share and outperform competition.
What We Are Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field.
7+ years brand management experience, preferably with beauty industry-related experience.
Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
Excellent written/oral communication skills and forecasting experience.
Strong execution, leadership and consensus building/decision making skills.
Computer literacy on Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to travel domestically periodically (max. 25%).
Strategic thinker and effective communicator at all levels of the organization
Proven leadership skills including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop team members.
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships across functional areas of the business enabling the successful achievement of initiatives across all brand categories.
Understanding of the digital ecosystem including media, CRM, ecommerce and content.
Superior leadership and communication skills. Need to be able to articulate clear business direction and strategies. Also, to liaise between different departments, participate in senior level management discussions and facilitate the creative process at all levels.
Ability to travel domestically periodically (25%).
