The Director of Human Resources leads the delivery of comprehensive system-wide strategic HR support for System Health Solutions (SHS). This individual will partner with executive level business leaders to design, develop and implement talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, career development, and compensation and benefits strategies, programs, and processes. The HR Director will report directly to and work closely with the SHS HRVP and is a designated member of the HR Leadership team. This leader will work closely with HR Center of Excellence leaders in areas such as Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion, Compensation, Benefits, and Organizational Development/Effectiveness to ensure system strategies are incorporated and executed appropriately. The HR Director focuses on strategic project implementation and serves as the first line point of contact for senior leadership as part of the SHS Clinical Leadership Team. This leader will provide executive level coaching, and addresses high priority, sensitive issues as needed. They will interpret both business and HR metrics critical to driving results and ensure their recommendations and work deliverables appropriately align. The HR Director will provide guidance, coaching, and development for the HR Team which consists of HR Business Partners and dotted line Org Development and Talent Acquisition/Onboarding support.
The System Health Solutions (SHS) business unit, a division within Indiana University Heath, was formed in 2015 and is charged with making high quality care more accessible and affordable, creating a more seamless customer experience, and developing new care models and capabilities that improve health of our patients and communities. The SHS business unit is made up of over 2,800 team members and delivered $1.2B in net revenue in 2021. SHS encompasses a wide range of service lines located across the state of Indiana, for example our Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Lifeline Emergency Transport Services, Urgent Care, Virtual Care, and Home, Health and Hospice.
Reports to: Vice President - Human Resources, System Health Solutions
Direct Reports:4 HR Business Partners (also provides guidance to dotted line reports - Senior Organizational Development Consultant, Talent Acquisition Lead, and Onboarding Consultant)
•Bachelor's degree required or equivalent years of experience.
•Master's preferred.
•Requires 7-10 years of relevant Human Resources experience.
•Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience required.
•Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SPHR, Project Management, etc. preferred.
•Requires prior management experience in a complex, matrix organization.
•Requires experience in leading the design, development, and execution of large scale human resource programs.
•Requires experience working with complex compensation systems and structures.
•Requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of several functional areas of Human Resources.
•Requires experience handling highly complex, challenging situations requiring exemplary professional judgment and diplomacy
•Requires experience coaching and developing diverse groups and all levels of professionals.
•Able to guide the application of HR related regulations and laws(e.g. ; FLSA; COBRA; ADA; FMLA; etc.).
•Requires basic proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
