Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities are a) serving as the ASCENT Program Director by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ASCENT program, b) engaging in leadership for the development of new partnerships and initiatives to support the ASCENT mission, c) providing administrative oversight and collaborating with faculty, staff, community members, and K-12 partners to ensure the program is fulfilling the needs of the grants related to this project, and d) exercising collaborative leadership with the Dean and other campus leaders to advance the program's mission and commitment to regional workforce supports in advanced technologies.
Additional duties include:
Serves as a dynamic and proactive leader for the ASCENT program.
Serves as an effective and impactful department head of the FSU PC ASCENT program, which includes staff management of all ASCENT staff and engagement with HR processes.
Prepares grant reports and anticipates, plans, and responds to changes effectively in the contracts and grants environment.
Stays knowledgeable of trends in technology and regional workforces to ensure the ASCENT program is charting its future appropriately.
Participates in budgeting activities, budget decisions, strategic planning, and policy-making at an organizational level.
Participates in and leads ASCENT training camps and develops instruction to support the overall program.
Advocates for the program by developing strong partnerships and collaborations across the university and in the community.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and ten years of related experience.
(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equaled to ten years).
Preferred Qualifications
A degree in a technology related field (Information Technology, Engineering, or other STEM related field) from an accredited institution.
Preference will be given to those with a master's degree (or higher) and a minimum of two years of experience serving in a related role. Strong preference will be provided to candidates who have successfully led a technology-related grant, have experience in workforce development, and have demonstrated the ability to secure grant funding .
