JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director, Enterprise Architecture to join our team. As Director, Enterprise Architecture, you will play a critical role in the success of our Information Technology strategy, operational platform, and of strategic initiatives that involve our system architecture.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively and holistically champions technical/operational transformation and optimization initiatives.
  • Leads the development of a value proposition and execution of a communication and education plan for the Enterprise Architecture practice.
  • Develops and deploys a prioritized roadmap for the overall Enterprise Architecture approach for the organization, and communicates it effectively across key stakeholder groups.
  • Effectively promotes the business value of Enterprise Architecture as an enabler of strategy formulation, and as support for technology innovation.
  • Leads the creation of the Enterprise Architecture ('EA') sub-function, ensuring consistent progress in the development of the organization, its ways of working, standard processes, and success measures.
  • Leads the development of the EA service portfolio, ensuring it is aligned to the needs of the organization and to the needs of EA's key stakeholders.
  • Translates and executes business strategy to achieve the organization's targeted business outcomes by leading the development of an implementation roadmap for the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Constructs technology-enabled business and operating models and provides viable options and visibility into execution issues.
  • Facilitates business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive and consultative manner, driving the organization's digital business strategies and balancing innovation and growth.
  • Collaborates with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the Enterprise Architecture and to leverage shared technologies, tools and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
  • Collaborates with infrastructure teams to ensure consistency with the Enterprise Architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Recruits and develops the critical skills, competencies and career paths for the EA team members; in particular, building the business and behavioral competencies needed to support the success of the group
  • Provides ongoing coaching and mentoring to members of the EA team.
  • Helps the enterprise find the right balance between enterprise risk and agility. Communicates key EA positions to business and IT leaders on an ongoing basis to get, and maintain, buy-in and alignment.

LEADERSHIP & KEY SKILLS

  • Strong leadership skills with exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, collaboration and negotiation.
  • Deep understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service-oriented architecture (SOA), APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT and predictive analytics.
  • In-depth knowledge of information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
  • Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related field of study, or equivalent experience required.
  • 8+ years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis; and/or
  • 8+ years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture or application development in a multitier environment.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $164,400 – $226,050

Fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience levels, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Benefits available to Team Members include subsidized insurance for the Team Member and designated dependents (medical, vision, dental, life and disability), eligibility to participate in the AGC Biologics 401(k) plan (including a generous matching contribution from the company and immediate vesting), vacation, sick time, and parental leave.

Team Members are also eligible to receive a discretionary annual bonus commensurate to the level of the role. The payout is based on both the company's performance and the Team Member's performance.
