Job description

Central Products Design advances Meta’s priorities on growth, integrity, customer support, social issues and brand equity through systems and experiences that scale product impact and cohesion across the company. As the Design Program Manager leader for the CP Design org, you will help us build up shared creative foundations, tools, and capabilities that accelerate the business and enable one vibrant Meta product ecosystem that people understand, trust and value.

Director, Design Program Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop CP design ops talent
  • and shape the design ops org, including determining the right people management capacity and model across: Central Product Foundations: Central Growth and Cross-Meta Experiences
  • Central Product Platform
  • Central Social Impact, Cross-Meta Integrity, Support and Security, Cross-Meta Design Systems, Cross-Meta Visual Systems
  • Maximize CP design ops impact, by ensuring focus on the most important business priorities
  • Envision and set direction for the future of design ops on CP
  • Partner with VP of Design and CP Design leadership to evolve our org’s design culture, programs, and rhythm of business
  • Drive cross-Meta design priorities alignment, operations, and execution for CP design
  • partner with DPM leads in the family of apps, AR and XF to improve and accelerate design development across all CP product experiences
  • Act as a strategic partner to design leadership on large, complex product and organizational challenges and Design Programs
  • Build influential cross-functional (XFN) relationships that inform strategy and improve the design team's focus and velocity
  • Deeply understand the technical design domain to drive programmatic planning and strategy that can be implemented and integrated into innovative technical solutions that meet business needs
  • Collaborate with XFN partners, including product designers, product managers, engineers and others, to identify opportunities, understand program scope and execution requirements and influence teams to build an XFN roadmap to deliver on technical programs, projects or processes
  • Define success criteria, key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics with partners to track impact and drive improvements within a program, project or process
  • Define the technical flow of requirements within XFN program teams to align on appropriate trade offs, while delivering secure, scalable and efficient programs and communicating the health and status of that program
  • Prioritize the highest impact work and guide its execution, ensuring short- and long-term needs are addressed
  • Be accountable for managing dependencies, risks and changes by leveraging technical design domain expertise and influence to optimize scope, schedule, and resources effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in design operations or related fields establishing programs, supporting design teams, and developing relationships
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience
  • Experience proactively handling complexity and navigating ambiguity with creative teams on large scale 0 to 1 projects from concept to execution
  • Experience as key stakeholder working with product leaders to define teams or programs from roadmapping through delivery
  • Experience in talent management and working with HR/Recruiting to retain and foster a healthy ecosystem for the DPM and Design disciplines
  • Experience working directly with cross-functional leaders and building programs for product designers, user experience researchers and content designers
  • Track record of influencing, defining and scaling complex company-wide product or business strategy in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with external vendors, including sourcing and negotiating
  • Experience in developing design standards and design operations
