The Director will work in the Debt Capital Markets team for the Bank’s Latin America region. The Director will be responsible for identification, origination, structuring and execution of Bond and Syndicated Loan, focusing primarily on Mexico’s public sector and corporate and financial institutions. The candidate needs to show demonstrated ability to cultivate effective client relationships and to hold proven execution track record of successful deal flow in Latin America Capital Markets. The responsibilities will encompass regular dialogue with CFOs, Treasuers and Heads of Debt Management Offices on funding opportunities, optimal financing structure, execution aspects and market conditions. The individual will need to maintain active relationships with coverage bankers, regional management and relevant credit areas across HSBC geographies.

Primary Responsibilities
The employee will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Identify and conceptualize funding strategies, primarily, for Mexican clients (both public and private sector)
- Develop funding proposals that incorporate marketing, pricing, and execution recommendations; incorporate liability management ideas relevant to clients, including but not limited to, preparation of refinancing analyses for the region’s clients that consider currency, tenor, size and implications for capital structure
- Develop and maintain ongoing dialogue with clients’ financing teams (Treasurers and CFO), with the view to provide regular market updates on funding conditions, with the goal to win primary Latam fixed income business
- On a regular basis, follow closely relevant Latam markets and credit curves and global macro developments, with the objective to prepare and distribute macroeconomic, debt primary and secondary market commentary to clients and relevant internal stakeholders
- Oversee all aspects of live bond deal execution, including origination, documentation, marketing materials (deal and non-deal related), execution and distribution across currencies
- Strong partnership roles skills as the role requires working in conjunction with internal and external partners – DCM, Loan Syndicate, Leveraged Finance, Liability Management, ESG, Legal, as well as the Corporate, Financial and country specific coverage teams
- Identify opportunities to enhance internal cooperation and maximize client cross-sell
- Review and coordinate work of junior bankers, and train junior team members
For this role, the targeted fixed pay is $275,000.
