The Director, Americas Strategy & Business Insights is responsible for developing and executing the company's strategic plan for the Americas which represents ~90% of WEX revenues, including the global Marketing and Operation teams.
Throughout the year, the team responsibilities will evolve with the natural evolution of our strategic cycle. For the first part of the year, this team will focus on assessing the market, identifying growth opportunities, developing and executing go to market strategies, all in collaboration with the leaders of our main lines of business. This role needs to be actively involved in hiring and training both new analysts into this organization as well as strategic roles into the Americas organization overall.
Over the summer time, this team will be responsible for translating learnings, current performance, and growth areas into a clear articulation of the strategy for the next 3-5 years.
The final months of the year will be focused on supporting the GMs translate strategy into operational plans for the following year.
The Director will also be responsible for managing Americas' business insights team, by ensuring that the senior leadership team has the data and insights they need to make informed decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive excellence in market analysis and strategic planning.
- Market Assessment: Continuously monitor and assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer behaviors within the Americas region.
- Growth Opportunity Identification: Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, market gaps, and emerging trends that can be leveraged to advance the company's objectives.
- Insight generation: ensure that the Americas' organization has the data and insights required to make informed decisions, be proactive on identifying opportunities and trends from data and surface those insights to the leadership team
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive and data-driven go-to-market strategies for the Americas, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals.
- Data Analysis: Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to market dynamics, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Storytelling: Transform data and insights into clear and compelling narratives that can be easily understood and actioned by various business stakeholders.
- Execution: Work closely with other business units to ensure successful execution of strategies, measuring and adjusting plans as needed.
- Performance Tracking: Implement KPIs and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven adjustments when necessary.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry developments and best practices in market research, strategy development, and storytelling techniques
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in strategic planning, Business Intelligence, and leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading and managing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Creative storytelling ability, transforming data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools.
- Experience with marketing and sales strategies.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Salary Pay Range: $156,000.00 - $207,000.00
