LIBERTY's Actuarial and Analytics team is seeking a vision leader in a Director Actuarial Services to oversee pricing efforts nationally in support of this goal.
The Director Actuarial Services will oversee LIBERTY's Actuarial Services team and serve as the actuarial data expert to support current and future business initiatives. Other key responsibilities include:
- Provides analytical support and analysis to different areas of the company, including Underwriting and Finance, particularly focusing on Government Programs – Medicaid and Medicare
- Review and analyze group P&L information to determine potential risk and trends, as well as identify any issues with utilization, eligibility, reporting, underwriting or system issues.
- Assist with the development of health care cost budgets and the tracking and reporting of actual performance including identification and analysis of budget variances.
- Determine premium rates for Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial and Exchange business and develop the rating processes, manuals and models to support such rating.
- Develop, generate, and distribute regularly scheduled internal reports and external client reporting.
- Work with Utilization Management Department to enhance utilization reporting and analyze aberrant utilization patterns.
- Work with Provider Services to determine rating impact of different provider financial arrangements.
What you'll need...
- Minimum 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited institution is required.
- ASA certification minimum; FSA highly preferred.
- 10+ years actuarial experience in the Healthcare industry.
- 5+ years' experience leading and developing high performing teams.
- Proven strategy actuarial or analytic leadership experience in working with cross-functional teams
- Data analysis experience in a healthcare setting, including experience in managed care
- Principles and practices of managed health care industry and strategies
- Strong understanding of healthcare market landscape
- Underwriting and/or Claims experience a plus, preferably in Dental or Healthcare/Medicaid
- Experience with Dental DPT coding preferred
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Knowledge of CMS regulations a plus
- Ability to work on multiple, concurrent tasks
- Knowledge of accounting/finance concepts
- Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, Access and Power Point
- Basic knowledge of SQL and Crystal Reports

COMPENSATION
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $170,000 - $230,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at LIBERTY, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any, final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.
