Shifts available:
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday - 8pm to 8am; 9pm to 9am
Thursday, Friday and Saturday - 7am to 7pm; 8am to 8pm; 9am to 9pm; 8pm to 8am or 9pm to 9am
Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour!Premium pay on the weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday) - equivalent to 1.5x your hourly rate. Make up to $28.50 per hour for hours worked on Saturday and/or Sunday!
12-hour work shifts allow for full-time work and up to 16 days off per month! You can have more than half the year off, but still work full-time, OR, we allow and encourage you to pick up additional shifts!
Looking for part-time employment? We currently have part-time shifts available, work every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm and have Monday - Friday off! This shift qualifies for premium pay - equivalent to 1.5x your hourly rate!

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The mission of New Horizons is to support people to achieve self-reliance, exercise control over their lives and realize their dreams and desires. The Direct Support Professional is to support people with disabilities either in their home, community, place of employment, or day services. You are responsible to assist each person supported to achieve personal outcomes that reflect their dreams, hopes, and desires.
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND COMPREHENSION:
- Maintains security and safety of people we support.
- Staff is knowledgeable of assessment and processes used to discover the needs, preferences, and capabilities of the persons supported and how that information is used in development and review of the service plan.
- Supports and assists person served in all areas of their daily life, including, but not limited to preferred activities, personal appearance, grocery shopping, home cleaning, communication styles, personal hygiene, finances, and laundry.
- Monitors crisis situations, discusses incident with authorized staff and people supported.
- Transportation of people supported to activities and appointments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting requirements may exceed 50 lbs. during medical emergency situations and/or behavior support. Other physical activities include transferring people we support to and from wheelchairs, beds, and toilets. Job requires bending, stooping, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, and driving a vehicle occasionally.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid Drivers License and safe record.
Successful completion of med. certification.
Successful completion of criminal background check and drug test.
The Board of Directors of the Human Service Agency shall have the prerogative to hire staff whose qualifications may vary from the above. This position requires access to Electronic Personal Health Information (EPHI). Current HSA Policies and Procedures apply. This is a 24/7 facility. Hours are as needed and assigned.
