Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Implement person-centered plans and support individuals in achieving their goals
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment for residents
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support individuals in participating in community activities and social events
- Implement behavior management strategies and provide crisis intervention when necessary
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their well-being
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a similar field such as assisted living or hospice care
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with ADLs and providing personal care assistance
- Understanding of resident rights and the importance of advocacy
- Ability to lift heavy objects or assist with transferring individuals as needed
