How You Can Make A Real Impact:
The DSP assesses, plans, implements and evaluates daily living programs and routines for individuals with forensic histories. The DSP conduct all program operations in accordance with RHD policy and the regulatory requirements of NJ DMHAS. The DSP is responsible for ensuring the individual’s health and safety is protected and that each individual participates to their fullest in activities of daily living.
Part-Time Hours:
- Saturday 1p-9p & 10a-6p
- Sunday 9a-5p
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Individuals according to planned supervision levels.
- Assist Individuals in completing their clinical goals; implement the goal plans from the Participant Wellness Plan.
- Support Individuals with daily life skills development, in the home and community.
- Utilize RHD vehicle to transport individuals to approved activities within the community.
- Support Individual with healthcare coordination, shopping, academic/vocational goals, utilizing community resources, social and interpersonal development.
- Support Individuals with cooking/ food preparation and menu planning.
- Support Individuals with maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings and trainings as identified by RHD, NJ DMHAS or governing agencies.
- Monitor Individuals when self administering medication (Medication Administration Training will be provided). 24/7 supervision is provided to Individuals in both residential and community settings.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Previous experience is preferred, but not required.
Required Qualifications:
- Must Pass Criminal Background Check
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Excellent Communication skills (written and oral) including interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage participants in effective, therapeutic and recovery oriented interactions.
Pay Rate: $16.50/hour.

Program Summary:
RHD NJ STEP Program provides supervised community-based residential services designed to provide a range of established and innovative rehabilitation strategies for adults with mental health diagnosis and forensic histories. The program focuses on community and personal safety, normalization and accountability in the least restrictive alternative residential setting.
