ResponsibilitiesThis position coordinates Library Digital Media and Accessibility operations throughout the Libraries and across campus to support user-focused Digital Media and Accessibility programs and projects. This includes the development of training resources, provision of consultations, managing media spaces, and assisting in the operation, development, and implementation of the Libraries' GEOSET program.
- Provides patrons and library staff with online and in-person support and training for technology and Digital Media services provided by the Libraries. Supports the mission of Geoset Studios and collaborates with the Digital Media Manager on studio projects and initiatives, as well as streaming support services. Participates in planning for service program enhancements or growth.
- Develops, implements, and assesses library accessibility and broad universal design initiatives, policies, and programs. Leads library-wide universal design efforts through coordination amongst varying departments and units. Collaborates with campus partners to design and promote library accessibility services for students, staff, and faculty. Keeps current with accessibility and universal design technologies and best practices.
- Coordinates with other library divisions and departments in user-focused technology needs assessment to improve overall Digital Media support for the research needs of the FSU community. Evaluates internal and campus-wide Digital Media and Accessibility services to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Hires, trains, and manages part-time staff to support Digital Media and Accessibility services at the Libraries.
- Participates in other department and/or library activities and services as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalency and six years of experience.
(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Preferred Qualifications- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the policies and practices of library services.
- Technical knowledge of Digital Media including the Adobe Creative Suite of applications and open source platforms.
- Ability to learn and teach software and technology programs and skills.
- Experience with various online communication & collaboration tools and virtual platforms.
- Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users through the development of user guides, online tutorials, and provision of training and workshops.
- Knowledge of web design and development.
- Ability to gather and analyze basic statistics to inform decision-making.
- Experience with live streaming and recording events.
