Job Description
We're currently seeking a Diesel TruckMechanic, with a valid CDL license,to perform mechanical repairs with minimal direction to ensure proper performance and safety. You'll also maintain diesel & gasoline equipment operations by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records. Qualified candidates will have a good solid understanding of all tools and equipment required to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair possible problems.
The starting pay is $25.00-$28.00 per hour depending on experience. We offer 100% paid on-the-job training!

- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts
- Keeps equipment available for use by field personnel by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing components and part upgrades
- Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
- Tunes, adjusts, regulates equipment engines, valves, pumps, carburetors and other mechanical components with variable setting
- Lubricates and services vehicles, equipment or machinery and maintains accurate record of such service. Enters all truck tasks and time into fleet management software
- Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems
- Follows federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
- Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting; participate in shop housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment
- Contains costs by using potential warranty, evaluating service, and parts options
- Maintain up to date job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
- ASE Certification preferred. A valid Class B CDL is required; or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
- High school diploma or technical/vocational school; or minimum 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Proficient with Microsoft office products; familiar with PC keyboards and data entry
- The employee is required to provide their own tools of the trade as well as purchase/replace, as needed, to ensure being able to perform the necessary functions of the job
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations, and walk, stand, sit, or bend for long durations in a variety of weather conditions
