Status: Full Time Exempt

Position Description:

The DevSecOps Engineer works as a team member IC IRES team supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) DevSecOps (DSO). This position will support development and maintenance of the MDA Azure cloud based DevSecOps Software Factory environment. The DevSecOps Engineer will provide engineering analysis and assessment to support future mission command DevSecOps efforts. The DevSecOps team focuses on automated tests through the entire CI/CD pipeline and development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will work to bring modern software development techniques to our DOD customers. The DevSecOps team is focused on moving MDA GMD environments to the cloud for better integration with the prime contractors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Valid Security+ and AZ900 certifications.
  • 0-10 years of direct experience with the following:
    • DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated software builds and tests.
    • Agile and lean methodologies.
    • Cloud, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages.
  • Strong work ethic with critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with contractors professionally and comfortably, government civilians, system operators, and other stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in at least one of the following areas is desired:
    • DevSecOps
    • Network Engineering
    • Software Engineering
  • Experience in support of DoD programs is preferred, especially in an MDA program.
  • Ability to contribute technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design, integration, test, and delivery to operations.
  • Experience working with SDLC tools (GitLab, JIRA, Jenkins).
  • Software development experience in one or more of the following general purpose programming languages:
    • Java
    • Python
    • Go
    • Ruby
    • C++
  • Experience in Linux/Windows system administration,
  • Experience with SIEM technologies and techniques,
  • Experience and clear understanding of DevOps principles and practices
  • Experience with scripting language (bash, perl, python, etc.)
  • Experience working with containers (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience working with automation tools (Ansible, Vagrant, Puppet, Terraform).
  • Understanding of Software Test Automation concepts.
  • Understanding of Modeling and Simulation tools, processes, and best practices

Security Requirements:

  • This role requires an Active Secret security clearance upon hire.
  • This position requires all candidates to be a US Citizen.
