Development Manager, Sponsorships & Corporate Relations
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, the Development Manager, Sponsorships & Corporate Relations will join the development department at a fast-paced, growing organization and is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, team-based work environment. The Development Manager, Sponsorships & Corporate Relations will manage and grow a robust sponsorship program across all IOCDF events including the Conference Series, Walk Series, and Training Institute. This will involve crafting innovative sponsorship offerings and strategies, along with actively soliciting and overseeing sponsorships. Responsibilities also include conducting prospect research, engaging in outreach to potential sponsors, building meaningful relationships, and providing detailed reports on sponsorship activities. Additionally, this role will involve building and seeking new avenues for corporate philanthropy.
This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require 3 days in office (Boston) per week, with the option to work remotely two days. Occasional travel required.
Qualifications
- A 4-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years work in a fundraising development or related office required.
- Previous experience managing nonprofit or corporate sponsorships and relationship building required.
- Experience with Salesforce or CRM preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively interdepartmentally.
- Detail-oriented, strong sensitivity to deadlines, multitasking ability, strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be flexible and open to changing priorities and needs.
Principal Responsibilities
- Track sponsorship program goals per budget, creating a strategy to achieve goals, and reporting on progress throughout the year.
- Create sponsorship prospectuses outlining levels and opportunities across events, working with relevant staff to offer competitive benefits reflective of industry.
- Develop customized proposals for sponsors outlining opportunities tailored to their specific needs.
- Work with the team to market sponsorship opportunities to IOCDF’s community in order to solicit sponsors.
- Build relationships with current and potential sponsors as point person for all sponsorship communications, and conduct regular meetings/debriefs.
- Liaise with other teams to ensure all sponsorship benefits are completed in an accurate and timely manner, providing internal and external deadlines.
- Complete sponsorship reports after each event, utilizing data to measure impact and reach.
- Conduct prospect research on potential sponsors and corporate donors.
- Build and manage prospective and current funder portfolios.
- Ensure that agreements, invoices, and receipts are completed and shared with funders, creating templates for each event.
- Strategize and develop vehicles for corporate philanthropic partnership opportunities (grants, fundraisers, in kind-donations, volunteering opportunities, etc.)
- Complete grant applications and solicit corporate gifts.
- Work with the Development Team to develop corporate workplace giving strategies.
- Update funding activities and pull reports in CRM database (Salesforce)
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices in corporate philanthropy and sponsorships, researching benefits for similar events and programs.
