Job Description
The Environmental Law & Policy Center (ELPC) seeks to hire a part time development (fundraising), intern, to work 15 hours per week on our development (fundraising) team. We are looking for an outgoing, fearless and enthusiastic student who is passionate about fundraising for the protection of and advocacy for the environment.
LOCATION: This internship will be based at ELPC’s headquarters in Chicago, IL with an in-person requirement of at least 4 hours per week on either Tuesday or Wednesday. The remaining weekly work hours may be performed remotely.
DURATION: January - June 2024. Exact dates are flexible depending on applicant’s availability, but we are looking for a candidate who is available to help at ELPC’s annual Gala on May 31st, 2024.
INTERNSHIP REMUNERATION: This is a paid internship with an hourly rate of $15.80.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:- Conduct prospect research to identify qualified funder prospects and prepare information to support initial outreach.
- Assist with donor database entry and management, with special attention to details including correct spelling and accurate data.
- Assist in preparing for Giving Tuesday and the year-end giving season, one of the busiest times of the year for the development team.
- Write and edit informative and compelling correspondence to donors.
- Perform a variety of critical administrative tasks for a high-functioning development team.

Academic Requirements, Skills & Abilities:
Must be currently enrolled in an undergrad or graduate school. The ideal candidate will be well organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate a personal interest in environmental issues and nonprofit fundraising.
Special Requirements:
Occasional evening hours may be required for special events.
