The Development Intern is responsible for supporting the Preservation Foundation of the Lake County Forest Preserve District ongoing fundraising activities while gaining an understanding of the different activities and actions that help build authentic connections between the District and potential donors. Works with the Preservation Foundation Executive Director to plan cross-channel appeals for an Annual Giving campaign. Creates donor profiles for key endowment campaign prospects and put togethers solicitation proposals.
Researches potential donors, strategic partners, markets, and industries for Corporate Giving opportunities. Assists with special events, gift processing, including entering gifts and sending thank you letters. Produces a weekly fundraising report.
Performs lifting tasks up to 25 pounds. Drives a motorized vehicle to travel to different locations. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and sitting.Recent graduate of, or current student in, a two- or four-year college program with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, Business or related program.
Interest in learning about fundraising. General knowledge of MS Office suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow through on projects and work independently in a deadline-oriented team environment. Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.Employment Type: Temporary
