About the role:
This internship role will support product design for projects the NPD (New Product Development) team is working on (CAD/drawings/BOMs/ECOs). The summer position will support prototype testing error resolution for mainly mechanical engineering systems such as structural (weldments), assembly, and hydraulics.
What you will do:
- Learn MLA's functional systems (CAD (Creo), PDM (Windchill), Microsoft Teams, CFT folders. Learn the basic knowledge of MLA's product.
- Project design and support (CAD/dwgs/BOMs) and/or error resolution on prototype units (semi-hands on). Job shadow and assist where need be.
- Work in a manufacturing environment. Audit manufacturing process and procedures.
- Participate in manufacturing safety orientation and safety initiatives.
- Presentation of experience and work completed during internship. Present to department and respective departments

- Part time position
- 10-week internship program
- Office and manufacturing environment located in Marengo
- Standard business hours
What you need to have:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization
- Computer skills: MS office and model design software (AutoCAD/Creo/Solidworks)
- Organizational and analytical skills
- Availability to be onsite in the Marengo office
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship in the future
What would be nice to have:
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing
- Knowledge of forklift industry or adjacent markets
