We are looking for a self-motivated, organized, flexible person to join our team.
This is a full-time position that will require some travel and occasional weekend work hours.
This position will work closely with both tourism and community partners to create opportunities to impact the area’s economy as we promote southern WV as a premier tourism destination.
Candidates should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and excel at communication with the public.
Experience in the tourism and hospitality sector is preferred.
Description:
Community / Partner Relations
- Develop relationships with both tourism and community partners
- Sustain and Strengthen relationships
Create and lead Group Tour Efforts
- Attend and participate in chosen annual Group Tour Shows
- Continuous follow up with Group Tour Operators
- Identify group tour products in our region
- Develop a relationship with Group Tour Operators and Group Tour Attractions
- Work with specialty groups outside the Group Tour space to bring events to southern WV.
Assist with Marketing Team Responsibilities:
- Communicate with Advertising Reps, collect options that fit our budget and mission to share with director and agency for consideration
- Annual Visitors Guide: includes maintaining listings, advertising sales, proofing, content consideration, etc.
- Specialty Marketing Pieces - ad sales if warranted, proofing and content assistance
Other Duties:
- Attend events as needed - these will typically fall on weekends
- Participate in continuing education activities and stay current on tourism trends
- Assist in daily office duties, including phones, emails and greeting the public as needed
- Represent Visit Southern WV at area meetings and on boards as deemed appropriate by the Director

Pay: $40,500.00 - $45,000.00 per year
