Our client has a brand-new opportunity for a Desktop Technicianto join their team onsite in the Columbia, SC area. They will provide desktop support for onsite and remote users resolving hardware, software and network issues.
Scope of Activity and Responsibilities:
- Performs equipment install, move, add, and changes
- Documents, maintains, upgrades, or replaces hardware and software systems
- Manage triage, troubleshooting, and resolution on IT equipment
- Document efforts, issues and resolutions, close cases / tickets daily
- Will project manage technicians for IMAC's at the two different locations
Campus Support:
- Hardware repair consists of:
- Triaging the hardware-related incident
- Assigning a technical resource to perform the repair
- Coordinating with the designated client contact, as needed
- Ordering and tracking parts, if required
- Provide a client-supplied loaner device to restore the end user to productivity until the EU device is repaired or replaced by assigned technicians
- Completing the repair, with appropriate escalation for damage due to equipment misuse
- Updating and closing the incident
- Performing warranty and non-warranty repairs of all devices in scope
Break / Fix:
- Coordinate parts availability for in-scope EU devices using:
- OEM warranty Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA”) process
- Customer-provided spares and parts
- Blend of the above by specific EU devices coordinate parts availability with the OEM and client to determine parts availability
Break Fix Repairs:
- Warranty will repair EU devices to OEM functional specifications in compliance with OEM warranty guidelines
- Manage and adhere to OEM warranty processes for warranty repairs
- Out of warranty
Deskside Support:
- Triage and resolution for configuration issues of in-scope operating systems
- Triage and resolution for configuration issues of in-scope applications
- Re-installing in-scope software, drivers, and add-ins
IMAC-D Services for EU Devices:
- Install: Perform the physical setup and connection of an EU device at the end user's workspace
- Move: Relocate an existing EU device from one physical location to another physical location either within the same building or within a complex
- Add: Add a hardware or software component to an existing EU device
- Change: Perform configuration changes to an EU device
- Disposition: Move an EU device that is identified as being as safe for transport, to a central location within the campus site for processing
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3 - 5+ years desktop support experience
- CompTIA A+ (desired)
- Must be able to work independently and will also interact with team members
- Strong customer service supporting all levels of users up to executive
