Purpose: Create designs for machines, tooling and/or systems based on customer orders, special requests and current standards of excellence. Make changes to existing designs and processes for improving quality and reducing costs. Reports to designated supervisor.

- Capable of creating part details and assembly prints as directed or as required to meet project specifications.
- Ability to complete design tasks as directed by a supervisor, trainer or experienced engineer, marking personal progress and learning.
- Teachable and trainable in applying learning to knowledge of products and processes.
- Ability to learn how to assist in reviewing customer specifications and providing reasonable time estimates for design requests.
- Capable of being trained in critical thinking and exercising good judgment in the selection of design solutions under various applications.
- Able to recognize and document patterns in process and problem solving
- Can identify areas to eliminate waste to improve flow to shorten lead times. Support and participate in process audits.
- Able to organize thoughts clearly and logically.
- Actively participate in team goal setting and accountability meetings.
- Participate in regular employee reviews including establishing and managing personal goal setting and regular tracking and reporting on progress.
Skills: Essential qualifications and functions gained through training and experience
- Associates Degree in a field of design or technology (or equivalent education, training or experience suitable for this position).
- Previous design or manufacturing experience preferred, as well as the use of CAD software and the ability to create and/or interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
