Description
Engineer, perform, create, and execute Finite Element Analyses (FEA) of passenger vehicle exterior systems including bumpers, fascias, grilles, wheel liners, and lamps, to meet frequency, thermal, fatigue, solar exposure targets for GM global performance requirements, using HyperMesh, NASTRAN, OptiStruct, HyperView, LS-DYNA, LS-OPT, ANSA, META, Primer, nCode (DesignLife), SimSolid, and Genesis CAE tools. Attend physical tests and tear downs and correlate finite element simulation results to physical test. Use CAE analysis to explain physical test results and to resolve validation issues. Present CAE results to cross functional teams. Use and apply optimization techniques, Design of Experiments (DOE) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), to determine dynamic response of vehicle structure and develop cost effective and mass optimized vehicle exteriors. Engineer, drive design, develop, and continuously improve product and processes, using Teamcenter and CAE software, to meet manufacturing and customer needs
