This position will be part of the Transportation Applications Engineering Team. The Engineering Designer will be responsible for creating and maintaining Transportation and Specialty product finishing designs (Branding & Packaging), BOMs, cost estimates, and maintenance of reference documentation as well as help support the production facility as needed regarding branding and packaging.
- Create and maintain detailed assembly and packaging component drawings for make and buy items.
- Create and maintain product branding (labeling) as needed to support Sales & Marketing goals.
- Understand and comply with internal and regulatory packaging and marking requirements.
- Create 3-dimensional CAD (SolidWorks) models as needed.
- Create and maintain product BOM's for production using several different ERP systems.
- Execute design releases and changes in accordance with the required system procedures.
- Manage, track and report design projects as assigned.
- Verifying, reconciling, and reporting the design outputs relative to the inputs.
- Work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure a timely, low-cost, high-quality design.
- Release and maintain reference documentation.
- Follow and ensure customer specifications are met.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 2-4-year degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar graphic design software.
- Preferable 2+ years experience in a quality driven manufacturing environment generating and handling engineering change documentation and processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft suite of software, CAD, SolidWorks preferred
- Understanding of ERP systems. Windchill / Baan preferred. SAP a plus.
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with customers, field sales and company contacts.
LOCATION: Springfield or Warrensburg, Missouri
TRAVEL REQUIRED: Less than 15% travel as required.
- This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
