SUMMARY
Perform engineering department duties involving the use of computer-aided devices and design software to create new, modified, and/or improved designs of mechanical systems using established engineering practices.
HOURS
Training: 7:00 - 4:00 M-F
After Training: Complete your 8 hours/day anytime between the hours of 6:00 am - 6:00 pm M-F
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Analyze product and equipment specifications and performance requirements to develop Mechanical Designs and drafting that can be produced by existing manufacturing methods.
- Complete designs on time and within the estimated hours per the current engineering schedule and within corporate and engineering department guidelines.
- Responsible for making Sale Proposal and Line Drawings.
- Responsible for working with Machine and Electrical Design to create Line Drawings.
- Responsible for working with Sales to create Sale Proposal Drawings.
- Responsible for working with Assembly and Engineering Project Management to correct Line Drawings.
- Design with due regard to safety, economy, and ease of fabrication and operation.
- Confer with engineering personnel and other department employees to clarify or resolve problems.
- Provide engineering services to manufacturing departments as required.
- Provide necessary drawing maintenance as required to maintain quality engineering prints.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED/PREFERRED
- Ability to comprehend and apply advanced mathematics.
- Able to respond to instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Broad shop knowledge including machining and manufacturing processes.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED/PREFERRED
- B.S. in ME, MET, or IA, or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
- Experience in Autodesk Inventor software is preferred.
