Job Description
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Manhattan, NY
Role & Responsibilities:
- Daily oversight and coordination of construction work.
- Managing the Construction Contract.
- Reviewing designs, drawings, specifications, Project criteria, design requirements, and scopes of work.
- Construction Contract modifications.
- Evaluating commercial issues.
- Scheduling and claims analysis.
- Collecting pertinent documentation, making merit determination recommendations, negotiating with the contractor, and ensuring that proper contractual notices are made.
- Preparing reports, position statements, and factual summaries.
- Managing tracking databases and reporting.
- Ensuring that issues are timely addressed in order of priority; and The punch list, close-out documentation, code compliance, and commercial log.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, and/or equivalent degree; and Professional Engineer.
- Substantial experience in construction management.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion and to cope with shifting priorities, difficult situations, and multiple deadlines.
- Ability to read and understand construction contract documents.
- Ability to manage tasks independently.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communications skills.
- Experience with complex construction projects in the transportation, military, or government sectors; and
- Substantial railroad related experience.
