Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs the clerical functions of the department. Fulfills departmental responsibilities that foster the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement. Provides a supportive environment that encourages teamwork and ensures effective communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Performs general secretarial duties. 
2. Transcription of and computer input of data for reports and other papers and forms. 
3. Accurately maintains staff members’ schedules and appointments. 
4. Maintains department file system. 
5. Makes proper arrangements for departmental meetings. 
6. Maintains office and department supply inventory. 
7. Prepares various in-house requisition forms as requested, check requests, expense reports, supply requisitions, logs and faxes. 
8. Prepares various reports/statistical data and assists in the completion of special projects, research and report compilation. 
9. Demonstrates a caring and empathetic manner in all contact with patients and their families. 
10. Maintains and provides documentation to Valley Regional Medical Center of current professional licensure and CPR certification, and meets annual competency standards. 
11. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. 
12. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. 
13. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. 
14. Punctual and complete attendance with hours of employment, work schedule, meetings, as it is an essential function of staff position. 

What qualifications you will need:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School Diploma /GED 
• Basic computer skills
• Good communication skills 
• Basic Cardiac Life Support or must be obtained within first 30 days of start date
