Dental Receptionist

We are a fast growing, patient centered, KIDS dental practice located in Glen Burnie, MD. We are looking for a competent dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Hours

• Tuesday-Thursday 8:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Friday 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
• and 1 Saturday a month 8:00 AM-3:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers in the dental office
• Monitoring and filling schedule
• Checking eligibility for Medicaid and HMO insurances
• Completing breakdowns for PPO insurances to determine if patients are required to make co-payments
• Calling patients if insurance is unable to be verified
• Updating patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.
• Scheduling follow-up appointments and providing telephonic reminders.
• Verifying methods of payment and collecting payments as needed.
• Performing general office duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, filing, and faxing.
• Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures

• Proficient in dental practice management software (Open Dental).
• Working knowledge of general administrative practices.

• Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related fields is advantageous.
• Attention to detail
• High school diploma;
• Bilingual ( English and Spanish) preferred
• Experienced (at least 1 yr) in Dental Office preferred (or recent completion of dental assistant school)
• Knowledge of Dental software preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
