Job Title: Dental Assistant
Location: Downtown Los Angeles
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm
Pay Rate: $20-25/hr (Depending on Experience)

Position Overview:
As a Dental Assistant for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) supporting the unhoused population in Downtown Los Angeles, your role will be crucial in providing essential dental care to individuals in need. Your primary responsibility will be to assist dental professionals in delivering dental services to patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dental team in all aspects of patient care, including chairside assisting, taking dental impressions, and maintaining patient records.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to established protocols.
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures, anticipating the needs of the dentist and ensuring patient comfort.
- Perform basic dental procedures such as taking dental X-rays, applying sealants, and applying fluoride treatments.
- Educate patients on proper dental hygiene techniques and provide instructions on post-treatment care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with infection control and OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent training.
- X-ray certification required.
- Prior experience in a dental office preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Compassion and empathy for patients from diverse backgrounds.
