Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about dentistry and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and documentation
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical record systems such as Dentrix
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
- Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as Dentrix is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
