POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Demand Planning in USG's Global Supply Chain organization is responsible for building the consensus forecast across multiple businesses and partnering with key external customers to implement supply chain initiatives. This position will lead a team that provides meaningful data to ensure USG exceeds service expectations and supports being easiest to business with customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages and develops 4 associates within the Demand Planning and Customer Collaboration functions.
• Supports the development and implementation of the Demand Planning process in the new supply chain planning tool, Kinaxis's Rapid Response.
• Partners directly with key customer's Supply Chain and Merchandising teams to implement strategic initiatives and exceed agreed upon targets.
• Leads the monthly Consensus Forecasting process by building a demand plan with multiple functions including product management, sales, finance, and key customers.
• Ensures the demand plan is focused on cross-functional collaboration to reconcile significant forecast variances and refine the forecast to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
• Achieves Key Performance Indicators, including Forecast Accuracy and OTIF (on time and in full) targets, by using data driven methods including root cause analysis to implement continuous improvement.
• Fosters relationships with key stakeholders to gain trust from General Managers, Sales, Product Managers, Finance, IT, and Supply Chain.
• Develops and mentors the team through regular coaching and formal performance evaluations.
• Promotes a culture of standardized work, continuous improvement, collaboration, and personal ownership.
QUALIFICATIONS
Critical Skills
• Demonstrated experience of managing direct reports, preferably within supply chain.
• Demonstrated experience of managing cross-functional relationships at multiple levels of the organization.
• Functional knowledge about supply planning including required data as well as processes related to Supply Chain.
• Experience with Rapid Response, Oracle eBusiness or Advanced Planning applications is preferred.
• Ability to develop and implement functional strategies and tactics to meet objectives.
• Ability to manage and summarize data in a clear, concise manner at the right level of detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business related
• Master's Degree in a Business related field (Preferred)
• APICS CPIM, CSCMP (Preferred)
Experience
• 5+ years in a supply chain role
• 2+ years managing or leading a team
