About the Role
We are looking for a Demand Planner for the Apparel Planning group to manage one of the fastest growing business lines for Ariat. This role will forecast demand and inventory needs by aggregating information from Sales, Finance, and Business Partners across the company to create deep insight and optimal forecast. This role plays a critical part in recognizing demand signals such as market and historical trends, point of sale data, seasonality, promotions, door expansions, to drive the supply and inventory needs to meet demand.
You will report to the Sr. Planning Manager in the Apparel group. You will work with the Apparel Demand Planning Team of 4+ planners. This role has high interface and collaboration with cross functional teams such as Sales, Production, Product Managers, Finance, Customer Operations, PO, Logistics & Distribution and Omni-Channel members.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000 per year.

You'll Make a Difference By
- Managing the Demand forecast on a weekly and monthly basis to align supply need within capacity and project supply needs on a 6-to-12 month view
- Planning bottom up and top down roll up for assortment, reviewing and analyzing sku productivity/rationalization and make recommendations based upon findings
- Post-analysis on monthly, quarterly, YOY, YTD basis, use findings to make forecasting decisions, measure forecast accuracy to initial targets set by Sales, Finance, and Planning
- Driving sales and in stocks to ensure adequate supply and optimization of assortment
- Coordinating supply needs for Omni-Channels: Retail, DTC, International Team
- Creating seasonal build and forecast for Core and New Products, sell thru, and exit strategies to maximize sales and reduce excess and obsolete inventory
- Aligning sales demand forecast for the season and fiscal year with Manager and Product Manager
- Leading Planning Meetings with Product Managers and Production Team, in reviewing sales forecast to inventory goals/needs and business overview
- Supporting business stakeholders with ad hoc analysis
- Continuous improvement for forecasting techniques, method, and approach
- Comprehending and establishing best practices in demand planning software to support the overall theme of department and organization's goals
About You
- Wholesale demand planning with some background in retail planning
- BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, or Business
- 5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or Merchandise Planning
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- Strong written and communication skills
- Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of organization
- Strong analytical skills to understand root cause and identify solutions
- Experience with software such as Cognos, Tableau, SAP, Vanguard (CCH Tagetik Supply Chain Planning) or other advanced demand and supply planning
- Experience in financial sales and inventory metrics
- Proactively identify challenges and discover relevant information within large data sets
- Have a point of view with the ability to use data to tell a story
- Likes to work with numbers and analyze large data
- Flexible and adaptable to changes and nuances, ability to switch from daily tactical operations to long term strategic thinking
- Knowledge of overall Supply Chain and how our individual work impact others
- A self-starter who takes initiative and accountability
- Exhibits curiosity, a passion to learn, an open mindset to listen to multi perspectives
- Demonstrate the ability to navigate ambiguous environments and understand that we are one team
