Position Summary
Responsible for producing journey level work output on an independent basis subject to supervisory review and direction. Incumbent performs a variety of tasks: picks up, processes, and delivers incoming and outgoing mail, bulk mailings, parcels, and freight according to college, U.S. Postal Service and other carrier requirements and regulations to assigned campus locations.
Creates, maintains, and revises as needed a time schedule that permits predictable receipt and dispatch of deliverable items between various campuses and operational units and meets these deadlines on a daily basis. Applies well developed interpersonal skills to exchange technical information regarding applicable regulations, policy and procedures to internal (management, faculty, and staff) and external personnel (vendors and the public). Cross trains less-skilled staff in tools, techniques, and processes associated with their job so the trainee can then serve as a backup when needed. Assists more-skilled staff in the completion of larger and more complex assignments. Work results impact the accuracy, reliability, and acceptability of further results beyond the immediate work section. Incumbent's services impact the users who make a broader contribution to the final product.

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.
Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience employing high-level customer service skills (dealing with staff, administrators and faculty)
- Experience organizing and scheduling work to meet established, strict timelines with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with the public.
- Experience working under various regulations/policies, and communicating to those who are unfamiliar with those policies.
- Have the ability to learn to process the mail (sorting and running the mail machine)
- Able to lift 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience related to materials handling including tracking and delivery. Basic knowledge of computer data entry/retrieval procedures.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Oregon, and possess an acceptable driving record including three years of accident-free driving, with no recent moving violations.
Must acquire Forklift Operator certification within six months of employment. Job requires well-developed verbal skills to present and exchange information which is sometimes technical or complex.

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $41,085 to $42,313per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in a non-office environment with exposure to equipment noise and exhaust fumes. Interruptions occur on a regular basis. Exposure to adverse weather conditions while making deliveries throughout campus and to external delivery services. Transports hazardous chemicals and toxic substances occasionally.
Physical Requirements
Lifting up to 50lbs. Loading/Unloading of vehicles as well as two-person lifts in the movement of surplus (i.e. chairs, tables, lateral files, office equipment) and misc. items as well as office moves.
