Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist performs inventory and logistics coordination for incoming and outgoing company assets as well as movement of product and supplies within a warehouse facility.
Essential Functions:
- Completes incoming inspection, testing, and confirmation of conformance
- Notifies and/or delivers incoming product to end user
- Completes daily receiving entries in computer system and distributes to office for filing.
- Monitors asset supply inventories, including maintenance and cleaning of inventory area as well as continual asset organization and tracking
- Responsible for facilitating all inbound and outbound shipments, including preparation of sequentially numbered paperwork in software accounting system, monitoring of packaging materials inventories, packaging of product to be shipped, and arrangement of transportation services
- Performs general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas; includes hands-on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other departments
- Load or unload supplies to or from trucks and trailers from the warehouse location
- Open, sort and distribute incoming correspondence at the facility
- Assist with other inventory needs throughout the site
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS SharePoint)
- Knowledge of logistics operations and shipping procedures and documents
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse/shipping/receiving environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, a background check, and provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
