Delaware Basin Overview
Spanning West Texas through Southeast New Mexico, ConocoPhillips holds approximately 709,000 total net acres in the Delaware Basin, which includes approximately 699,000 unconventional net acres. ConocoPhillips began exploring and appraising the basin's stacked pay potential in 2012 and has gained extensive technical expertise to optimize development. Entering 2023, the company now operates over 2,800 wells throughout the Basin.
In 2022, the company operated an average of 10 drilling rigs, including one electric rig, and 153 new operated wells were brought online. Net production in 2022 averaged 321 MBOED.

Description
If you are selected as the Delaware Operation Center (DOC) Operator, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of the production surveillance and optimization plan related to well site and central facilities operation. Your position will work an 7/7 work schedule including day and night shifts.
Responsibilities may include:

  • Surveillance and control of well site facilities, trunk-lines, and central facilities
  • Alarm management
  • Intelligent alarm management
  • Central facility equipment monitoring and optimization
  • Oil truck hauling dispatch and coordination
  • Production control optimization
  • Daily integrated operations (IO) collaboration/optimization meeting
  • Target vs. actual nominations for sales and deliveries
  • Monitor production from a centralized control room and optimize accordingly to achieve production targets
  • Automated work plan management
  • Communicate any work priority changes necessary to the multi-skill operator (MSO)
  • Daily loss production tracking
  • Loss production reporting system (LPRS) tracking and end of the month validation
  • Health, Safety, & Environmental (HSE)
  • Follow Lower 48/Midcontinent Business Unit HSE policies and procedures
  • Incident command support
  • Regulatory documentation
  • Align with applicable regulatory policies and procedures
  • Production, Surveillance, and Optimization (PS&O)
  • Provide input and mentorship for field-wide operating strategy
  • Provide updates and mentorship on operations, maintenance, and down-hole activities for the area
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues
  • Collaborate with engineering for data gathering requests
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues
  • Own the production and downtime events in area of responsibility to minimize repeat failures
  • Ensure lease-hold wells are produced to maintain leases
  • Provide work direction

Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to perform/comply with following: Work an 7/7 work schedule including day and night shifts,
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodations) to perform/comply with following: Work overtime as needed

Preferred:
  • 5+ years of direct well operations experience
  • 1+ years of direct experience in upstream field operations
  • Working knowledge of field operations including: compression, plunger lift, rod pump, chemical treating, etc. operations on high pressure and low-pressure gas and oil wells
  • Understanding of well control and artificial lift theories and techniques
  • US gas industry experience including gas gathering, dehydration, compression, pipeline, stabilization and processing
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and organization skills are required.
  • Able to effectively convey messages through written and oral communication
  • Proven ability to operate in a crucial, urgent and committed way to deliver results that are sustainable and measurable
  • Displays integrity and follows through on dedications by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
