Shenandoah University comprises six schools: the School of Health Professions, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Shenandoah Conservatory, the School of Business, the School of Nursing, and the School of Pharmacy. The mission of the School of Health Professions is to educate and inspire developing professionals who enhance the health of individuals and communities. Students are led by a highly creative faculty dedicated to excellence in healthcare education. The School of Health Professions enrolls over 600 professional education students within established and developing degree and certificate programs that include Athletic Training, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Public Health, Health Sciences, and Speech and Language Pathology. Students attend classes in Winchester and Leesburg, VA, or attend fully online, remote, or hybrid programs.

The Dean ofthe School of Health Professions demonstrates forward-thinking leadership in a thriving, growing range of academic programs, facilities, technologies, and business operations deeply connected to the healthcare communities in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and Northern Virginia. The Dean is committed to collaborative decision-making and fostering partnerships within and external to the University. The Dean reports to the Provost and serves as a member of the University and Academic Cabinet.

Qualifications:

The candidate must possess:

An earned doctorate terminal degree from an accredited institution in one of the programs housed in the School of Health Professions or a closely related discipline.Leadership experience in high education Personnel management, budgeting, and strategic planning experience Professional accreditation and regulatory compliance experience Experience supporting a diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning environment that fosters a sense of belonging Outstanding written and oral communication skills An understanding of in-person, hybrid, and online learning environments A commitment to student learning, success, and retention
