```Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping and receiving department. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the contents
- Inspect packages for damage and report any discrepancies or issues
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and labeling them appropriately
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Assist with inventory management, including counting and organizing stock
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of retail sales and store management is a plus
- Strong math skills for calculating weights, dimensions, and shipping costs
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with shipping software
