Job Description
SUMMARY
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our Analytics team as a Data Scientist. The ideal candidate will assist in project delivery, document processes and practices, and generate both standard and ad-hoc analytics reports. This role involves collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to report conclusions from completed analyses. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for synthesizing recommendations for clients through comprehensive reports. A key aspect of this position is the opportunity to learn and expand upon current statistical forecasting methods. The successful candidate must be adaptable, capable of handling diverse tasks, and willing to take on other duties as assigned. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Exploratory data analysis: Conducting exploratory data analysis to understand the underlying patterns, trends, and relationships within the data.
2. Document processes and practices.
3. Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Cleaning and preprocessing raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis.
4. Data Collection: Gathering data from various sources, including databases, APIs, files, and other structured or unstructured formats.
5. Statistical Analysis: Applying statistical techniques to analyze data and derive meaningful insights.
6. Report conclusions from completed analyses.
7. Write reports synthesizing recommendations for clients.
8. Model Deployment and Monitoring: Deploying machine learning models into production environments and monitoring their performance over time to ensure they continue to deliver value and meet business objectives.
9. Feature Engineering: Identifying and creating relevant features from raw data to improve model performance.
10. Data Visualization: Creating clear and insightful visualizations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders effectively.
11. Learn and expand upon current statistical forecasting methods.
Requirements:KNOWLEDGE AND DESIRED COMPETENCIES
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field
· At least five years of experience as a Data Scientist, statistician or economist or equivalent academic position
· SQL-Advanced
· SQL Server Management Studio
· Power BI
· Statistical/Mathematical background
· Excel-power query/power pivot
· SSIS
· Competency in Python or R
· Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal business office conditions. Working for prolonged periods of time at a computer screen. Hybrid schedule including in-office and remote work.
