- Survey questionnaire design, with knowledge of best practices from the fields of econometrics, psychometrics, and general social sciences.
- Sample design and implementation, including simple random, stratified, probability proportional to size, cluster, and convenience sampling.
- Statistical analysis, including descriptive and inferential statistics, regression analysis, factor analysis, and topic modeling.
- Technical writing and action planning based on survey results.
- Project Management Office support, including development of critical pathways to project completion and project timelines.
- Client management, including direct communications with clients regarding project timelines and deliverables, meeting facilitation, and briefings based on survey results.
- Employee mentorship and development, including training junior employees in survey methods, statistical analysis, and project management office support.
Successful candidates for the Data Scientist II role must have the following education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, or economics and at least 4 years of experience with Workforce Surveys and Analytics.
- Master’s degree in sociology, psychology, or economics and at least 2 years of experience with Workforce Surveys and Analytics.
- Doctorate in sociology, psychology, or economics with training in survey research and quantitative methods.
Candidates with a history of successful project experience in Workforce Surveys and Analytics are preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience, or a MA/PhD in social science or statistics.
- US Citizenship is required.
