ADP is hiring a Senior Data Scientist. In this position you will collaborate with business partners to develop novel ways to meet objectives utilizing cutting edge techniques and tools. The successful candidate can communicate the analytics approach (e.g., relevance, tradeoffs) and how it will meet and address objectives to business partners. You share a passion for data science with the broader enterprise community, while working to identify and develop long-term processes, frameworks, tools, methods, and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create repeatable, interpretable, dynamic, and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytics solutions and deployable into Production for use by the business
  • Articulate trade-offs between methodologies, languages and assets and make a strong recommendation for the workstream
  • Propose features to include in master table and have a growing understanding of trade-offs in model building (e.g., granularity of features vs time, processing power, insights)
  • Deliver a workstream (e.g., model validation, model explain ability) end to end with limited guidance from colleagues
  • Confident in a growing range of leading methodologies and can adapt and apply them to solve the problem independently
  • Proactively pulls in expertise where new approaches or methodologies are required
  • Propose and design plots/ outputs that optimally display data to guide problem solving independently. Able to clearly articulate the ‘so-what’
  • Write good, accurate production-ready code
  • Growing proficiency with large number of Python libraries
  • Follow software development and MLOps best practices
  • Check own work using best practice model validation/QA approach
  • Good understanding of risks and growing understanding of how to mitigate

 EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of agile methodologies and experience as a Data Scientist on a cross functional agile team preferred
  • Ability to apply data science techniques on large scale data sets. E.g., machine learning to solve clustering, classification, regression, anomaly detection problem statements; and optimization or simulation techniques to solve prescriptive problems
  • Demonstrated ability to derive new insights by merging and transforming internal and external data sets in business contexts
  • Experience with supporting deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of models preferred
  • Experience with cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS) and developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 2+ years of related experience in a data science environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MS or PhD preferred in the field of data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related fields
  • Python or R required; SQL preferred

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently learn and solve new business domains and problems
  • Nice to have experience with popular open-source or commercial optimization libraries (e.g. Gurobi, CPLEX)
  • Knowledge with dashboarding tools (e.g., Dash, Shiny, Tableau)
  • Nice to have knowledge with MLOps infrastructure (e.g., Databricks, MLflow) and containerization and managing production pipelines and microservices (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
