The Data Sciences Group (DSG) is developing new methods to analyze heterogeneous data from a variety of sources, including engineering systems, scientific observations, and text reports. The group is researching and developing various approaches to search, characterizing, interpolating within, and reasoning about, data sets of various sizes and types (different types of variables, spatial/temporal/spatiotemporal/textual, etc.).
The candidate will be tasked with researching novel methods for timeseries forecasting with the intent to identify anomalous observed behavior to detect potential safety vulnerabilities in aviation operational data. New algorithms will be benchmarked against existing state of the art methods to determine performance improvements with regards to known safety events
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, able to work in a hybrid setting and provide regular updates on progress to the task lead.
- Excellent general programming skills and fluency in Python.
- Familiar with neural network architectures such as transformers and architectures programed in either pytroch or tensorflow.
- Familiar with large file parsing and timeseries analysis.
- Familiar with Linux environment and submitting parallel computing tasks on a high-performance computing system.
Desired Skills:
- Familiar with visualization approaches to display parameter contributions for explainable Al purposes.
Compensation:
$21 - $24 per hour
This range is for the California area only.
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
