We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic smart building Data & Network Architecture Lead to join team with a global client developing an industry leading smart building platform across a 40M+ SF global portfolio of diverse commercial office properties. As the Technical Lead for the program's Data & Network Architecture (DNA) team you will be responsible for establishing the strategy and standards needed to design, scale, and operate the global OT (operational technology) infrastructure platform. You will develop high-level systems architecture and detailed functional/non-functional requirements for the OT infrastructure and work collaboratively across multiple technology teams to successfully design, build, and manage the platform. You will be responsible for defining and tracking platform success metrics to demonstrate return on platform investments. You will create and manage detailed financial models analyzing the cost and efficiency of the platform at scale as well as its individual components. The Data & Network Architecture Lead will also work with and oversee a team of OT Solution Architects and OT subject matter experts (SMEs) within the global smart building program. Working closely with JLL and client leaders, this role will ultimately be accountable for prioritizing activities that will achieve program objectives and establish global OT capabilities across our client's portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop the strategy and requirements to inform the design, implementation, and management of a standardized global OT infrastructure. The OT infrastructure will address OT device connectivity, OT data processing and handling.
  • Create operational processes for the development of technical solutioning within the program framework including ideation, testing, hardening, and deployment support.
  • Evaluate and select technologies, platforms, and service providers, considering factors such as compatibility, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement and efficiency through the OT infrastructure platform to optimize value delivery and balance technology investments
  • Manage a team of OT solution architects and OT SMEs to operationalize technical solutioning in alignment with ABI processes, Shipyard (testing laboratory) operations, and the overarching DART framework.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture functions to evaluate, plan, and implement systems integrations between the OT technology stack and globally managed applications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in operational technology (OT), IoT, smart buildings, building controls and their respective supporting infrastructure services including network connectivity and managing data pipelines. Leverage learnings to propose innovative solutions to enhance the program's effectiveness.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, to foster collaboration and support the successful execution of the program.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure timely and successful completion of solution architecture initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management, providing updates on program quarterly deliverables, risks, and key milestones.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology. Advanced degree or certifications in relevant fields a plus.
  • Proven experience in leading strategic development activity for large scale technology initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate operating principles, industry challenges, and unique needs.
  • Strong understanding of systems design and solution architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to rapidly evaluate and prioritize large bodies of work to drive program level results.
  • In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure technologies, protocols, and architectures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and wireless networks.
  • Strong understanding of data connectivity technologies, such as IoT protocols, edge computing, and cloud connectivity.
  • Experience with network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience integrating operational technologies (OT), building controls, smart building technologies, and IoT devices within existing complex technology environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and delivering results within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Excellent leadership, written, and spoken communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve solution architecture issues.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Estimated compensation for this position is:
140,000.00 - 218,000.00 USD
The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
