Job Title: Data Modeler
Job Location San Jose, CA (Remote OK)
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Job Responsibilities:
- Should be able to design models that reduce data redundancy, streamline data movements, and improve enterprise information management.
- Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
- Collaborate with the development team to develop a data reporting environment across organizational data systems.
- Identify and promote best practices and patterns for data modeling to ensure consistency within the system.
- Integrate the data platform with analytical tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
- Implement data strategies and develop physical data models.
- Update and optimize local and metadata models.
- Review team members' codes for quality and correctness.
- Evaluate data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.
- Liaison with multiple stakeholders to understand the business requirements and work with team members to support the product requirement mapping to the rest of the engineering track.
- Work with other team members to support high-quality delivery and keep a balance with customer focus to meet business needs.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain a consistent record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate ability to design & implement performance, scalable, resilient, reliable, and understandable data pipelines.
- Exhibit expertise in modern data engineering approaches and awareness of leading technology trends.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
- Effectively collaborate with teams for problem-solving and resolving issues.
Experience & Qualifications required:
- 8+ years of experience in data modeling techniques.
- Working knowledge of Reporting technologies such as Power BI, Watch, and Looker.
- Exposure to finance ERP and treasury applications such as Bloomberg, Clearwater, Quantum, and Clearwater is essential.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent from a leading university, preferably with a Master's degree.
- 8+ years of post-college experience as a developer and architect in Reporting, Data Modelling, and Interface Engineering.
- Cloud certifications (good to have)
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- A great communicator with strong project management skills and superb attention to detail
- Experience leading teams in a complex global matrix organization involving multiple reporting lines.
