Job description

The Controllers Transformation organization is looking for a dynamic individual to help shape the future of the Finance organization. As part of Citi Finance's transformation program, the Controllers Transformation team is charged with leading Finance's efforts to provide accurate information of the highest quality to our customers, shareholders and regulators. Controllers Transformation processes are comprised of those sets of activities that begin with defining and establishing appropriate data standards and ensuring readiness for consumers, standardizing the accounting and processing of transactions to financial systems, implementing a comprehensive set of integrated financial closing processes, which then culminates with instituting common and optimized financial / regulatory reporting processes.
Controllers Transformation processes are the starting point for a majority of Finance activities and serve as a feeder to other global processes and areas of consumption. The role holder will be a change leader and actively engage Regulatory Reporting teams leads to help transform Finance's global process.
The role holder will champion business process changes by understanding current state processes, helping to define the target state, partnering with Technology on the delivery of required infrastructure capability, and with client-facing and shared services teams in the transformation to the target state. A strong finance background, passion for driving change, navigating and overcoming obstacles, and working effectively independently and in team settings are critical to the role holder's success and growth.
The role holder must be able to evaluate issues of varying complexities by developing an approach or action using multiple sources of information and weighing various alternatives and balancing potential conflicting situations. Requires excellent analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area.
Responsibilities:
• Governance over Data Requirements for U.S. Regulatory Reporting CCAR and Related Prudential Rules
• Work closely with Data Teams and report Owners to define requirements and edit checks for Consent Order Reporting commitments for the Data Use Cases
• Manage data demand process for CCAR and Prudential Regulatory reports and ensuring timely delivery
• Prioritizing data requirements and data sourcing within the Investment Case Technology budget process
• Talent Assessment, Acquisition and Development to support objectives of:
• Re-engineer the process to improve overall performance and controls of the function
• Deploy technology solutions to automate function across rules governance teams
• Interact with Finance, CDO, FCDO, FRSS, Internal and External Auditors
• Maintain meaningful KPI and KRIs to monitor progress against objectives, communicate to management
• Facilitate the interaction between Local Regulatory Reporting and U.S. Regulatory Reporting
• Contributes to the design, roll-out and governance of financial solutions, including:
• Participate in formulating and setting strategic direction for the process, organization and architecture covering Finance across Citi businesses, products, functions and locations
• Partner with Finance groups to provide reporting and best practices guidance
• Transform disparate processes into a streamlined, standardized and best-in-class global process, while understanding the requisite level of detail required for successful implementations. This includes the removal of legacy process and system silos
• Plays a part in settling and operating necessary forums and frameworks to establish and govern policies and starts for global Finance processes
• Participates in assessing and incorporating changing business, regulatory and market information needs into finance processes and applications
• Manages complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas
• Leads and directs a team of professionals, directly and indirectly
• Applies in-depth knowledge of the business impact of process design and technical contributions
• Regularly interacts with peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations
• Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy.
• Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
• 15+ years of relevant experience, within Finance, Regulatory Reporting, infrastructure transformation, project management implementation or related field, the financial services industry required
• Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, with strong attention to detail
• Exceptional analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong and broad- based finance and internal control skills and attention to detail
• A proven track record of process transformations, including technology integration. Able to identify and drive change by thinking "out of the box". Strong and demonstrated execution skills
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills coupled with an ability to build a broad base of support among key decision makers at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success in collaborating and building relationships and influencing across the organization
• Requires a comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the goals of the function.
• Requires communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others.
• Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills
• In depth knowledge of banking products / systems highly preferred.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree, potentially Master's degree
With ever increasing financial and regulatory reporting requirements along with scrutiny over the quality and accuracy of our submissions it is important that all regulatory reports and filings are part of one single organization. As next generation of technology solutions are being developed we need to have a coordinated approach on the deployment across various reporting requirements. The objective of this position is to govern the quality and accuracy, improve process efficiency by deploying relevant technology, and develop talent pool for the Rules Governance Prudential Reports.
