This past year, we served more than 13,000 people, guided by our mission to help homeless and very low-income people every day and every night obtain the housing, jobs, shelter, and essential services each person needs to prevent and end homelessness.

- Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
- Type data into our database from paper documents provided directly from customers
- Enter data into a proprietary web application
- Verify data by comparing it to source documents
Requirements to become a freelance Data Entry clerk/typist on Upwork:
- Must be over the age of 18 with an internet connection
- No prior experience is required but prior experience is preferred
Preferred skills for freelance Data Entry specialist
- 1+ years experience as a Data Entry clerk or in a related field
- Basic understanding of databases
- Strong, demonstrated computer skills
- Ability to type at least 60 words per minute with a high degree of accuracy
