Description
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Manage and allocate resources for project requests and service desk ticket requests ensuring high customer satisfaction and efficient use of the systems.
  2. Communicate with management regarding concerns and issues surrounding the use of information systems, the EHR and other applications that affect HIPAA, or other compliance or governmental incentive programs.
  3. Coordinate with Clinical and Operations management to identify goals and scope of clinical informatics projects.
  4. Communicate with Data Analysts to coordinate agency-wide system activities.
  5. Implement applications, tools, and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data in client care and the provision of health care.
  6. Oversees application implementation and system customization to include the development of alerts/hard stops, data integration, order generation, automation of document entry and enforcement of adherence to workflows.
  7. Interpret, modify, analyze and design clinical data and information systems.
  8. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals to evaluate current EHR functionality and develop future applications by building consensus and using efficient decision-making processes.
  9. Recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems.
  10. Research client data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve workflow.
  11. Manage and lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of clinical data systems.
  12. Monitor and report quality data as related to the EHR and clinical software applications.
  13. Oversees the configuration and setup of new users within the clinical systems as they relate to the EHR.
  14. Serves as a subject matter expert for issues within the electronic health record & data analytics platforms.
  15. Develops and works with other members of the team to implement solutions for system related problems to minimize operational impact.
  16. Maintains transparency and communication of projects, statuses, escalation of problems as well as data overview reports for leadership.
  17. Demonstrates exceptional patience and calm demeaner in a high stress, demanding environment.
  18. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures and assists in crisis.
  19. Must be physically able to lift computer equipment that may weigh up to 25 lbs.
  20. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  21. May be required to work holidays and/or after hours on call as requested.
  22. Must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  23. Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management as requested.

SKILLS:
  • Superior analytical, oral/written communication, problem-solving and PC skills (including Excel, pivot tables) are essential.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases & data structure
  • Strong technical foundation in data analysis & visualization tools
  • Understanding of IT application, infrastructure, and security requirements.
  • Knowledge of ECHO and/or current electronic health / medical records system.
  • Must be proficient and have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Understanding of medical terminology and workflows is critical.
  • Detail oriented and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and address issues with a combination of delivered and custom-developed tools.
  • Must be a methodical and pragmatic problem-solver.
  • Attention to detail in all tasks assigned.
  • Ability to compile, code and categorize, or verify information/data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and organize large amounts of information and determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving clients, healthcare providers, or others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise creativity, and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information.
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  • Must have adequate individual coping skills.
  • Proficient in typing a minimum of 50 word per minute.

Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations.
In addition, must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with staff, management and other professional groups; in exercising mature judgment in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
Qualifications
DEFINITION:
The primary responsibility of the Data Engineer is to contribute to the development and maintenance of the electronic medical system, software applications, and databases for the agency. Develop and understand the application functionality, reporting capabilities, interfaces and integrations associated with clinical applications assigned. Diligently work to ensure all information systems are effective & efficient in facilitating high quality clinical service delivery that also empower executive leadership with compelling, actionable, reliable, & accurate data.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Management, Computer or Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or another related field preferred, an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree in a clinical discipline, Computer or Data Science, or Healthcare related field is preferred. Three (3) years of experience in information systems/EHR/data analysis, Power BI and MS SQL required. Experience in a clinical setting such as Medical, Behavioral Health, or Rehabilitation field preferred.
An expectation of core competencies in relation to individuals with co-occurring disorders.
