General Function:
Perform Data Center Technician duties per documented processes and procedures. This includes a working knowledge of customer hardware with ability to interact, troubleshoot issues and work independently.
Essential Duties Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot all aspects of server hardware and related storage products.
- Repair, upgrade and downgrade servers.
- Monitor and maintain all in-rack devices (e.g. servers, network devices, storage, PDU, UPS, etc.).
- Coordinate hardware warranty replacement with vendors.
- Escalate tickets as needed and collaborate with teammates to resolve issues.
- Maintain Data Center component inventory.
- Provide assistance to all operations personnel to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
- Strong experience in troubleshooting/fault isolation.
- Ability to multitask with a high attention to detail.
- Due to the 24x7 operations of the business, must be able to work a flexible work schedule, may include nights and weekends.
- Intermediate understanding of networking and internet protocols including, but not limited to, Ethernet Switches, IP Addressing (CIDR/Netmasks), and DNS.
- Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a Data Center or tech support role.
- Ideal candidate will have Dell, HP and/or IBM hardware certifications.
- Remain current with all procedures and provide input as appropriate.
- Escalate to the assigned client representative and Pomeroy Manager any documentation, process or procedure discrepancies and follow-up until resolved.
- Must be able and willing to learn new tasks/skills as required.
- Must be able to communicate and understand verbal, written and electronic instructions in English.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:
- Moderate to difficult computer skills, experience using Excel and Word is required.
- Ability to use email, communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Ability to follow detailed processes/instructions is required.
- Employee may be requested to assist with individual and shift schedules in accordance with budget guidelines and may be required to work under remote supervision.
- Enjoys Working in a Fast-paced Environment.
- Knowledge of Computer Hardware, Software and Related Services.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Perform additional tasks and/or duties as assigned by management.
